Greetings from Italy, our pupils are having a great time so far. They have been visiting historical sites in Pisa, Florence, Rome and Sorrento.

The following year 7 and 8 students competed in the Southampton Schools (Teams) Table Tennis tournament at Woodlands School. Although quite a few of the students are very inexperienced with table tennis, they did extremely well, with the boys A team finishing 3rd, as well as the girls team. It was lovely to see some different faces representing the College for their very first time.

We are looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming prospective families to our school this evening!

Our Saint George's students were invited by Black History Month South at St Mary's Fire station for Black History Month South launch to showcase our talents and read our poems that student created that reflects the theme of this year, "Standing Firm in Power and Pride". The message of this year's Black History Month is clear: unity is strength. Despite challenges and differences, there is beauty and power in shared heritage. The question "What power?" has only one answer: the power that people of colour always held to resist, to create, to lead, and to inspire. This month, and every month, they stand firm in that power. And they take pride in it.

We took some of our YR9 students to the Southampton Boat Show. The students took part in some amazing activities and gained more of an understanding of the broad and exciting career paths in that the British Marine Industry have to offer

Our school adventure to Kenya this July was nothing short of incredible, from exploring the savannah to connecting with local communities, every moment was unforgettable.

Extracurricular Clubs and Activities: AUTUMN TERM A

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our fundraisers and/or donated items for the Kenya 2025 trip. You enabled our students to help make a difference to the lives of the children we worked with, and hopefully to experience something life-changing for themselves. While we were there, we tiled two classroom floors, repaired a damaged partition wall, painted a classroom with lots of things to support their curriculum, played games, sang songs, baked cakes, held hands, taught lessons, led a sports day, and blew endless bubbles! Before we left, we purchased the new textbooks needed for the new curriculum, exercise books for every child, planning books for the teachers, whiteboard pens, refills and erasers, maths sets, a Bible, and a dictionary. With the donations we took, every child and teacher received at least 2–3 new items of clothing and many received a pair of shoes too. The school manager also contacted local mothers and women she knew were in need of the baby clothes and bras we had. Thank you again for all your support in making this possible! A warm welcome to our Year 7 students who started with us today. They have enjoyed getting to know their new tutors as well as enjoy a few lessons. We look forward to welcoming the rest of our students in full winter uniform at 8:30am tomorrow.
