    Apprenticeships Week 2026

Saint George has been celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2026. We have taken part in various activities and students have been exploring exciting pathways beyond the classroom — discovering how apprenticeships can open doors to real-world skills, hands-on experience, and future careers. From inspiring speakers to practical workshops, it’s been fantastic to see our young people asking big questions and thinking boldly about their next steps. A huge thank you to our staff, partners, and local employers who helped make this week so impactful.

The Next Level Qualification: T-Levels explained

T-Levels are two-year technical qualifications for 16-19-year-olds in England, designed by employers and equivalent to three A-Levels. They combine classroom learning with an extended industry placement, offering students a mixture of technical knowledge, relevant skills, and experience. T-Levels are an alternative to A-Levels, apprenticeships, and other 16–19 courses.

T-Levels are a revolution in technical education. They are a new qualification that focusses on high-level technical study and work-ready skills. They have been developed to offer a credible alternative to A-Levels and will provide young people with a clear route to skilled employment, as well as progression to higher or degree Apprenticeships, or degree-level study at university.

T-Levels are on offer at a few colleges and the links below will offer advice and guidance regarding these. They have been devised to help you to develop the knowledge, attitude and practical skills you need to thrive in the workplace.
