Saint George Catholic College Celebrates National Recognition with Pearson Silver Award.

Saint George Catholic College is proud to announce that it has been named a Silver Winner in the prestigious Pearson National Teaching Awards 2026.

The award places Saint George among a select group of schools, educators and support teams from across the United Kingdom who have been recognised for their exceptional contribution to education. Silver Award winners are chosen from thousands of nominations and represent the very best of the teaching profession.

Often described as the “Oscars of the teaching profession”, the Pearson National Teaching Awards celebrate the dedication, innovation and impact of those who work tirelessly to improve the lives of young people. Silver winners are announced nationally on Thank a Teacher Day and become finalists for the prestigious Gold Awards, which will be presented later this year.

This recognition reflects the commitment of the entire Saint George community. From outstanding classroom teaching and pastoral care to enrichment opportunities, faith formation and student support, the award celebrates the collective effort of staff, students, families and governors in creating an environment where young people can flourish.

The Silver Award is a testament to the hard work, dedication and passion demonstrated across the school every day, and recognises Saint George Catholic College's ongoing commitment to providing an exceptional education rooted in Gospel values, high aspirations and a strong sense of community.

The school would like to thank all staff, students, parents, carers, governors and supporters who contribute to making Saint George such a special place to learn and work. This award is a celebration of everyone who helps our young people aspire, achieve and become the very best version of themselves.

As a Silver Winner, Saint George Catholic College will now join schools from across the country in the next stage of the Pearson National Teaching Awards programme, with Gold Award winners to be announced later this year.
