St George Catholic College is an oversubscribed school, with a proven track record of continued success. It is currently ranked in the top 5% of schools nationally for progress. The college is rated by Ofsted as ‘Good’ (2021) with the potential to be graded outstanding in its next inspection. It has been graded ‘Outstanding’ across all areas for the last four Local Authority inspections. It is a college in which we have a commitment to knowing every student and ensuring they fulfil their potential. In our 2021 OFSTED report it stated that “This is a very friendly school and pupils enjoy coming in each day”. Pupils’ kindness towards each other is underpinned by the school’s Catholic ethos and their ‘ASPIRE’ values of respect and positive relationships. Pupils and teachers often talk about the school as being ‘like one big family.’ They celebrate the range of different cultures and backgrounds that make up their school community.

The Business Studies faculty is highly successful and play a key role in the College’s achievement. It delivers both GCSE Business Studies and BTEC Business Enterprise. In 2021 95% achieved grades 4-9 for GCSE Business Studies and 100% for BTEC Tech Enterprise. Both subjects are incredibly popular at the school hence the motivation to expand the team. The faculty has 4 dedicated ICT rooms with state of the art facilities and an additional classroom without computers. It’s supported by our ICT Technician and Network Manager.

The right candidate would benefit from entering a supportive environment with a blend of skills, innovation and experience. We promote a positive Catholic ethos but there is no requirement to be Catholic to apply. The department’s track record in developing staff and achieving outcomes is second to none. We wish to appoint an outstanding practitioner who can offer vision, energy and creativity in the teaching of business studies. We would welcome ECTs, as well as more experienced teachers to apply.
