There are many opportunities for students to become actively involved in the life of the school through chaplaincy, prayer, liturgy, charitable outreach and student leadership.
Whether serving at Mass, leading prayer, supporting fundraising, or helping to organise liturgies, students play an important role in helping our community to pray, celebrate, and live the Gospel values that underpin daily life at St George.
In Year 10, pupils can also apply for chaplaincy leadership roles as Year 11 Spirituality Captains and Spirituality Prefects, providing positive role models for younger students.
We warmly encourage students of all faiths, and those of no faith, to get involved.
Our Chaplaincy Activities Poster provides an overview of the wide range of chaplaincy activities available throughout the year, including liturgies, Youth Alpha, charitable initiatives, Spirituality Awards, the Faith in Action Award, and opportunities for prayer and reflection.

The sections below explain some of the many ways students can become involved in the Catholic Life and Mission of St George.
The GIFT (Growing in Faith Together) Team supports the Chaplaincy Team in promoting the Catholic Life of the school.
Members help to prepare for, serve and read at Mass, support school prayer and raise money for our school charities. The team is open to all students from every year group, regardless of faith background, and includes our Spirituality Prefects.
We are developing a team of Parish Ambassadors to strengthen the links between our school and our feeder parishes. Working alongside our Chaplaincy Team, the ambassadors will help build relationships with our local parish communities and encourage greater engagement between school and parish life.
Our Spirituality Charter encourages every student to grow in faith throughout their time at St George.
The charter sets out a pathway of spiritual experiences, acts of service and opportunities for faith development for each year group. Students are recognised and rewarded for their participation, with a unique badge awarded annually as they progress through the charter.
Complete the following responsibilities in order to earn your spiritual badge.
Pupils are also encouraged to work towards the Faith in Action Award, with the support of the school chaplain. The award recognises pupils who put their faith into action, e.g. by serving at Mass and being involved in parish life.
At St George, faith is lived out in everyday school life. Students are encouraged to put Gospel values into action through service and by showing care and respect for others. Opportunities include the Eco Committee, Equality Advocates, Diversity celebrations and Fairtrade initiatives, helping students to understand Catholic Social Teaching, including Care for Our Common Home.
We are proud to have achieved FairAchiever status from the Fairtrade Foundation in recognition of students' commitment to ethical trade and global justice.
