Extra-Curricular Activities

Whether you are interested in sports, sciences or the arts, at St George you have the opportunity to get involved in a range of extra-curricular activities.

The PE department runs many clubs both in and out of college hours. This includes football, netball, basketball and cricket. An extra-curricular timetable is provided to tutors every term and is also on display at various places around the school.

If you are interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), the Science department offers after-school activities including the chance to build robots with a local engineering firm, while the ICT and Maths departments also provide extra-curricular clubs. If you are more interested in saving our planet, then you may wish to join the college’s Eco-committee.

For those who enjoy drama, dance and music, our Performing Arts department provides the chance to take to the stage in end-of-term productions as well as the annual musical extravaganza. There are clubs after school and at lunchtime for actors, dancers and stage crew – check the timetable for more information. You can also get involved with the college band, SG Pops, choir and/or ukulele club.

There are weekly clubs in art and technology, as well as an annual Summer Showcase of students’ work from throughout the year. For those interested in reading, our Library is open daily and there is a weekly lunchtime Book Club.
